Community Guidelines

OffMenu is operated by Hook Technology LLC. We want OffMenu to be a safe, respectful, and useful platform where local businesses and customers can discover, connect, and interact with one another.

By using OffMenu, you agree to follow these Community Guidelines. These guidelines apply to users, businesses, offers, reviews, ratings, messages, profiles, images, and other content or activity on the platform.

Violations may result in content removal, feature restrictions, account suspension, or permanent account termination.

Be Respectful

Treat other users and businesses with respect.

Do not engage in:

• Harassment or bullying

• Personal attacks

• Intimidation or threats

• Hate speech or discriminatory behavior

• Abusive, degrading, or deliberately offensive conduct

• Repeated unwanted contact

Keep Reviews and Ratings Honest

Ratings and reviews should reflect genuine experiences with a business or offer.

Do not:

• Submit false or fabricated reviews

• Review a business you have not genuinely interacted with

• Manipulate ratings or reviews

• Offer or accept compensation in exchange for misleading reviews

• Coordinate activity intended to artificially improve or damage a business's reputation

Businesses may encourage customers to leave feedback, but should not pressure users to provide a particular rating or review.

Keep Offers Accurate

Businesses are responsible for ensuring that offers, promotions, prices, availability, eligibility requirements, expiration dates, and other information they publish are accurate and not misleading.

Businesses must not:

• Advertise offers they do not intend to honor

• Misrepresent pricing or discounts

• Hide material restrictions or conditions

• Use misleading images, descriptions, or claims

• Create promotions intended to deceive or manipulate customers

Users should also follow the stated terms and eligibility requirements of any offer they claim.

No Fraud or Deceptive Activity

Users and businesses must not:

• Misrepresent themselves or their business

• Impersonate another person, business, or organization

• Publish fraudulent offers or misleading promotions

• Attempt to scam, deceive, or exploit other users

• Engage in phishing or identity theft

• Manipulate check-ins, claims, followers, ratings, or other platform activity

• Create accounts for deceptive or fraudulent purposes

No Harmful or Objectionable Content

The following content is prohibited:

• Content that promotes or glorifies violence

• Credible threats of physical harm

• Sexually explicit or pornographic content

• Graphic violence or gore

• Sexual exploitation or abuse of minors

• Content encouraging self-harm or suicide

• Content promoting terrorist or extremist organizations or activity

• Content that facilitates serious criminal activity

No Spam or Platform Manipulation

Do not:

• Send repeated unsolicited or unwanted messages

• Post substantially identical content excessively

• Use misleading links or promotions to generate engagement

• Artificially manipulate followers, check-ins, claims, ratings, or other activity

• Use automated systems to spam users or businesses

• Abuse messaging or other communication features for unrelated mass solicitation

Businesses may communicate with customers through OffMenu where appropriate, but communications should remain relevant and respectful.

Respect Privacy

Do not post, disclose, or distribute:

• Personal information about another person without permission

• Private communications without appropriate consent

• Sensitive or confidential information belonging to others

• Information intended to harass, threaten, or expose another person

• Content that otherwise violates another person's privacy rights

Do not use information obtained through OffMenu to harass, stalk, intimidate, or improperly contact another person outside the platform.

Use Messaging Responsibly

OffMenu may allow businesses and users to communicate directly.

Messages must not be used for:

• Harassment or threats

• Repeated unwanted contact

• Fraud or deceptive solicitation

• Spam

• Sexually explicit or inappropriate communications

• Sharing illegal or harmful content

Users may block other users or businesses when they no longer wish to receive direct communications.

Respect Intellectual Property

Only upload, publish, or share content that you own or have permission to use.

Do not post content that infringes another person's:

• Copyright

• Trademark

• Right of publicity

• Trade secrets

• Other intellectual property or proprietary rights

Businesses are responsible for ensuring that photos, logos, menus, promotional materials, and other content they publish may legally be used on OffMenu.

Follow Applicable Laws

Users and businesses are responsible for complying with applicable laws and regulations.

Businesses must not use OffMenu to promote, sell, or facilitate products, services, or activities that are unlawful in the location where they are offered.

Businesses are also responsible for complying with applicable consumer protection, advertising, pricing, licensing, and promotion requirements.

Reporting Content or Behavior

Users may report content, offers, messages, profiles, reviews, or businesses that they believe violate these Community Guidelines.

Reports may be reviewed by OffMenu, and appropriate action may be taken when a violation is identified.

Submitting intentionally false or abusive reports may itself result in enforcement action.

Blocking Users

Users may block other users who engage in unwanted, abusive, or inappropriate behavior.

Blocking may restrict the blocked account from communicating with or otherwise interacting with the person who blocked them through certain OffMenu features.

Enforcement

Hook Technology LLC may take action when we determine that content, accounts, or activity violate these Community Guidelines, our Terms of Service, applicable law, or create a risk to users, businesses, or the platform.

Actions may include:

• Removing or restricting content

• Removing or disabling offers

• Limiting messaging or other platform features

• Restricting business or user accounts

• Temporarily suspending accounts

• Permanently terminating accounts

• Preserving information when required for legal or safety purposes

• Reporting suspected unlawful activity to appropriate authorities where appropriate

The action taken may depend on factors such as the severity of the violation, whether it was intentional, previous violations, and potential harm to others.

Severe violations may result in immediate account suspension or termination without prior warning.

Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time as OffMenu develops or as our policies, features, or legal obligations change.

When we make updates, we will revise the Effective Date shown above.
